DUNCANVILLE, TX, January 20, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — The Pelican House Restaurant, an authentic Cajun and Creole restaurant that brings the soul of Louisiana to the heart of Texas, was one of ten Texas restaurants chosen to offer food samplings during the 2023 Inauguration Celebration Taste of Texas Luncheon and the 88th legislative session kickoff held January 17th in Austin, Texas. The Texas Restaurant Association (TRA) was selected by the Texas Inauguration Committee as the official culinary partner. The TRA then selected ten restaurants, along with more than 60 ProStart culinary students, to display the diversity of culinary expertise that Texas has to offer. For the event, Chef Louis Rainey and his team from The Pelican House Restaurant created and served a BBQ brisket jambalaya, a plant-based pulled pork jambalaya and a Cajun chipotle corn and black bean salad.
“It was an incredible honor to be selected by the TRA to represent the Cajun and Creole category as well as Duncanville and North Texas during the 2023 Inauguration Celebration. To be among industry leaders on such a special day for our state was indescribable,” stated Chef Louis Rainey, Owner of The Pelican House Restaurant. “It truly was a team effort as we were supported by other restaurants and organizations in North Texas. We couldn’t have done it without them.”
